About

Author.

Sharon is an academic and writer who has lived across the UK, including the Lake District, Birmingham, and York, though now she calls Copenhagen her home.

Born in the Lakes, Sharon has grown up across the world from her family in South Korea. As a child of diaspora and wandering, both her academic and creative work grapples with what it means to belong.

You can usually find her in independent coffee shops across different cities, either writing, knitting, or chasing down the perfect chai latte—sometimes all three at the same time.

My favourite…

Book

It changes all the time, but an absolute classic I will always carry on my travels is Tracy Chevalier’s The Girl with a Pearl Earring. I don’t know, it’s something about the beautiful simplicity of the descriptions together with the deep, raw emotions.
… My favourite manga series though is SKIP BEAT! by Yoshiki Nakamura. #TeamRen

Author(s)

Madeline Miller, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Laini Taylor, M.L. Rio, Emily Henry, and many more.

Genre

To read? Thrillers, mysteries, literary/contemporary fiction. No contest.
To write? Fantasy, because I don’t like real-life rules. Instead, I create my own world rules, inflict them on myself, then proceed to bemoan the tyranny of Past Me.

TV, Film, Game(s)

New Girl or Parks and Recreation are my go-to TV shows (I am 100% a sitcom girlie). Films, I like anything but my favourite has to be Kingsman 1 and 2. I’m a BIG gamer, I grew up on a steady diet of The Sims, Zoo Tycoon, and (free) MMORPGs since I didn’t own consoles. Now, I play a broad range of genres from (J)RPGs to Roguelikes, to simulations, to otomes, to pretty much anything.
My go-to games are Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Guild Wars 2, Stardew Valley, Hades 1 & 2, Persona 5 Royal—and because my reflexes are POOR, I watch Souls content on Youtube (thank you FightinCowboy) and sigh wistfully over eldritch content.

Drink

This used to be hot chocolate, all day every day. Nowadays, I’m never too far away from a (chai) latte, brown sugar milk tea boba, or smoothies.

Season

In Europe, Autumn. In Korea, Summer.

BONUS. SEA or Mountain?

As a Lake District girlie, you can never take me too far away from the mountains, but the sea will always have my heart. I am, at the core, a salt-stewed, sun-soaked, sea-stirred land mermaid.
